Meet Delaney

It was a really early morning as we packed and got ready to leave for the hospital. I don't think either of us slept very well out of excitement and a little nervousness.

Since then, time has flown in a dizzying whirlwind of diapers, feedings, tears, smiles, swaddles, marvels and snuggles in the past 9 days since our little girl was born. It was so amazing hearing Delaney cry and seeing her for the first time at 7:30 that morning. She weighed in at 7lbs, 12 oz and 20 1/2 inches long and is the sweetest little bug.

First photo: Everyone was cracking up about her pouty lip
During our stay, we were blessed by visits from family, friends, our pastor, and lots of bright and pretty flowers to brighten our room.

Even though all of the nursing staff (postpartum and nursery) at our hospital were wonderful, we were ready to go home the third day and ended up checking out early.

We're home!
I'm definitely getting around well and doing more every day, but have to thank Jeremy for being the best husband ever to get me to this point of the recovery. He has had an endless supply of encouragement, helpfulness, and patience over the past week. He made what seemed like 107 trips to the car at the hospital, has been running lots of errands for Dr visits, soccer, grocery, and has cooked some really good dinners, done the laundry, and made me breakfast in bed! On top of all of that, I get the best feeling seeing him in his big leather chair every night watching the World Series holding our sweet girl on his chest.

And Sid has been a wonderful big brother--he makes sure to wash up and change his T Shirt as soon as he gets home from school each day so he can hold Delaney and talk to her. He has also made up a few silly songs that she will come to appreciate as she gets older.

On Day 3, I decided to break out my SLR to get some good photos of our little miss.

On Day 5, Jeremy and I set up a little studio in the front room with lots of natural light and a few cute accessories to take some photos for her birth announcement. Here are some of my favorites:

Our neighbor made her this little daisy headband--too presh!

This is exhausting! All done!
I'm sure we'll have many more posts over the days to come. Thanks and appreciation to our friends and family for your support and love as we all waited for Delaney to get here.
