NOLA Trip, February, & March--Sorry Blog!

I'm a little over 3 months without a post so I thought I'd do some updating!

After Christmas while Sid took a trip to Nashville, we took a short trip to New Orleans. Jeremy had been before but it was mine (and of course Delaney's) first time there-- what an awesome place!!! The food, people, music, art, and history were so fun to take in.

We went to Jackson Square and took in the sights, took Delaney on a tour in a buggy ride with a mule named Brown Sugar, and had beignets and cafe au laits at Cafe du Monde.

We also visited the NOLA Audobon zoo and aquarium--lots to see!

February was a big month as we all got back into the swing of work and school routines. We celebrated our anniversary and Jeremy went to NC for his dad's retirement and his mom's 60th--er--49th! birthday. We missed him but were so glad he could be there for those two very memorable events!

Sidney received some big news at the orthodontist: braces ready to come off! Very exciting news for a 7th grader! To celebrate, they gave him a box filled with candy and treats he hasn't able to enjoy in almost two years: popcorn, taffy, AirHeads, and jolly ranchers. Too funny! He also had his 7th grade Cotillion Ball--here he is with his good friend Ryan looking sharp!

Jeremy decided to try coaching basketball for the first time and took Sid's 5th ranked team all the way to win the championship-- no joke!

We had a sweet Valentine's Day--here's Delaney at Gymboree with Daddy:

Now to the part on why I haven't made updates to the blog lately: we have been thinking about moving for a while and finally got serious about looking for a new house. In March, we decided on one, closed on it, moved, and put our other home on the market--it was a really hectic time to get it all coordinated and a lot of work, but we're super excited about our new home! Having a playroom and media room is really great for the kids and we are enjoying the larger kitchen and study.

It seems like Delaney learns new words every day! She still loves to read and has moved on to Olivia, Fancy Nancy, and some of the Little Critter books. She also likes the Look and Find books and coloring with crayons or markers. Mom has done a great job teaching her colors and counting--she can also pick out the letters A, B, C, and D on the page. Her current favorite food (changes weekly) are PASTA! and PEAS! (she says them in a really cute high-pitched voice).

Sid is still making good grades in school and recently made the school soccer team. We were not sure what to expect as Middle School has one combined 7th/8th team and they take the top 22 kids out of 100 that try out, so are very proud of the hard work he put in during tryouts. He will continue to play on the school team along with his select development team through the Spring season. He just cracks us up--ask him to tell you about his sales skills at our garage sale! :)

Delaney loves to brush her teeth in the mirror. She calls herself "Daney"

I'll have some Easter and April pics soon! Not my finest or most witty post but it will do the trick! Hope everyone is doing well--we love ya!
