It's been a while since we've posted anything and we have two great things to share!
We picked Sidney and Mom up from the airport Friday--really needed to see their smiling faces and missed them so, so much. It was a bummer that Jeremy had to fly out for work that weekend and had to fly out later that day, but we made the best of it and ate at a really good burger joint simply called "Dan's Hamburgers" by the airport. Wow! It was a cute little cash only place and as good or better than Mighty Fine or Hut's--REALLY!
We hung out for a couple of hours, laughing and catching up, and then (sadly) dropped J off at the airport for his flight. At least we were able to watch him on TV to pretend like he was home...
Sid went straight back into the swing of soccer training Sat/Sun morning and he was pretty stoked to see all of his soccer buddies. They gave each other really odd nicknames that left the parents all scratching our heads and the boys cracking up--Non Muffin? The Guy? Nugget? Supergalactic Cow Something?
Over the weekend, we also went to see The Last Airbender and did a bit of back-to-school shopping. Sid had a little World Cup Final watch party with his friend Ryan at our house and we ended up playing board games at halftime with one eye on the game as it was 0-0 for what seemed like forever!
It was *so* good to have Jeremy home on Monday and to all sit down to dinner again as a family. Sidney requested homemade macaroni and cheese so had to be sure that was on the table!
Also, we've decided on a name for our baby girl--Delaney Elizabeth!
It uses names from both maternal sides of our family--Delaney is a variant of "Elaine" that we really like and Elizabeth from Jeremy's side. We're really excited to have a name picked out, and we've since cut back on calling the baby the temporary name her Dad endearingly created: "Atticus Clementine" (but will be sure to share that with her when she's older)! :o)
Hope everyone's Summer is great--ours is flying by! Can't wait for our upcoming family vacation and visits to Austin from Teena and BB in the next few weeks!
